Surface Finishes of Plastic Injection Molding Services
Injection-molded parts’ surface finish is an important design consideration. Identifying the right surface finish is dependent on a few important elements, namely the development or production stage that your parts are in, the materials they’re being manufactured in, and their end-use application.
| Pictures | Grade | Finsishes | Descriptions |
|
A1, A2, A3 | Glossy | High gloss, mirror-like finish. Critical visible surfaces require a flawless appearance in all lighting conditions. |
|
B1, B2, B3 | Semi-glossy | Semi-gloss or fine matte finish. This surface is less visible than a Type A surface, with a slight, uniform texture visible upon close inspection. |
|
C1, C2, C3 | Matt | Uniform matte or slightly textured. For non-critical visible or internal parts, where the functional surface can conceal minor workmanship. |
|
D1, D2, D3 | Textured | Functional texture, non-reflective. For purely functional parts where appearance is unimportant, they are typically concealed on the surface. |
Parts Injection Molding Tolerances
MoldPartner delivers plastic injection molded parts of varying sizes and complexities. Tolerance is very important, and if not correctly specified and controlled, assembling will fail. MoldPartner offers tight tolerance options in accordance with ISO 2768 standards, up to + 0.05 mm depending on the precision of the mold and size of the parts. We pay attention to the locations where tighter tolerance is required. Every tooling sample and production part shipment comes with an adimensional report

Cost Down Analysis
We partner with you to conduct cost-down analysis to meet your requirements.
Critical-To-Quality
Defining critical-to-quality (CTQ) dimensions in your model helps our team focus on the most important features. This way, we can prioritize and address them effectively. During production, we employ automated in-line CMMs (coordinate measuring machines) to check the molding process and initial samples. This results in thorough First Article Layout (FAL) reports and in-depth Statistical Process Capability (CPK) studies, which confirm our consistency and reliability.
Strong Production Capacity
We have a variety of 30T-1200T injection molding machines, including high-speed injection molding machines, vertical injection molding machines, two-color injection molding machines, and so on.
Assembly and Finish
We support assembling parts and responding to customer needs. Including product plating, powder spraying, and so on.
Insert Molding
Insert molding is a type of injection molding process. The process begins by inserting an insert of metal, ceramic or engineering plastic into a mold cavity. Molten plastic is injected. This creates a strong bond between the insert and the plastic. In the end, it forms one integrated composite part. This multi-material mix is produced in a single injection molding process. It eliminates assembly steps and improves product strength and precision. It’s particularly well-suited for high-end manufacturing applications such as automotive, electronics, and medical.
Complete Quality Systems
APQP full program planning, PPAP, and Scientific Molding. Tooling inspection and Automation. Access to ISO9001:2015 quality certification.
Manufacturability Analysis
Before mold manufacturing begins, we conduct a comprehensive manufacturability analysis. Our team of engineers works closely with you to optimize the product design from a production perspective. This early communication helps spot potential issues. It ensures smooth production right from mold creation. This way, we reduce defects and avoid costly mold changes. We use proven injection molding techniques during production. We also optimize process parameters to ensure quality and reliable performance in every cycle.
Material Selection Assistant
We have a wide selection of more than 500 thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
Professional Team
Each production program has assigned Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Program Managers, SQE, Tooling Engineers, and Logistics Supervisors.
Over Molding
Overmolding is a type of injection molding. It mixes different materials to create one solid part. A hard plastic part is molded first. After that, soft rubber or TPU is injected onto its surface. This forms a multi-layered, integrated composite structure. It can improve functionality, durability and aesthetics, and is commonly used in electronic product handles, tool grips and medical devices.
In high-volume injection molding, we produce thousands or even millions of identical molded parts. Strict quality control and consistent results are extremely important to us. Our proven production experience ensures the highest standards are met at every stage of production.
Scientific Molding: It is all about using data rather than intuition to guide the process. We carefully develop, optimize, and record the best processing parameters for each job. This creates a clear and repeatable “process window” that ensures consistent part quality throughout every production run, both now and down the line.
First Article Inspection (FAI): Before formal mass production begins, we conduct a critical step—First Article Inspection (FAI). We thoroughly inspect the first batch of samples to confirm that all key dimensions, materials, and performance meet your design specifications. Simply put, only after successful FAI can we confirm that the production line has been fully commissioned and is ready for stable mass production.
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): We strictly adhere to PPAP standards. This detailed verification process has several steps. It provides clear documentation to assure our customers that we can consistently produce quality products.
ISO 9001 & Medical Certification: Our quality management system is certified under ISO 9001:2015. On this basis, we implement a more rigorous verification process for medical device manufacturing, covering four major steps: design qualification (DQ), installation qualification (IQ), operation qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ), to ensure full compliance at every stage from design to operation, ultimately protecting patient safety.
